  1. “Oxymoron” should pop up in the definition for “clean coal”.

  2. @ eksith:

Very good point. In fact that is exactly how it is described in this blog post from Solreka

  3. Good to see there are a lot of others out there who can see past this smoke screen too.

This whole thing still sets a dangerous president as lawmakers may be more easily fooled by the clever talking. Or they may have “favours” owed by them to those very same industrialists.

Either case, I hope the unfortunate events in Tennessee will at least force people to take a good hard look at what’s really being sold to them.

If anything is clear now more than ever, it’s that no one solution will be the magic bullet to end the energy crisis. We have to stop thinking the “next big thing” will save us and instead try to think in terms of multiple solutions.

Be it solar, hydrogen, ocean waves, wind, or geo thermal.

The more we diversify our energy sources, the less likely it will be that we’ll be surrounded by shortages and pollution. And we’ll less likely be in trouble if one source fails to deliver for any reason.

Power generation consumes more fuel than our cars. We need more incentives for private citizens to produce their own energy if necessary.
